With campaigns now in the Yukon, Thunder Bay, and Guelph; and endorsements from celebrities like the Tragically Hip, Project Porchlight is growing. I have a feeling this is a result of the hardwork of hundreds of volunteers, and the stellar PR skills of Mme Siouxie.
I recieved an e-mail last Wednesday that went a little something like this.... "I have another Porchlight photo idea - the Tragically Hip have agreed to have their photos taken with some energy-efficient Porchlight bulbs. Would you like to be our photographer?
Um ya... would I! Silly question. It didn't take me a lot of convincing to go. We were invited to the sound check party and I had all of about a minute to grab a shot. Lighting was tough, I would have liked to have a chance to set up the shot better but you take what you can get when large overbearing body guards are looming about. "One shot... you get one shot please."
I would have been happy just attending the sound check party... the tickets with amazing seats were an added bonus. (Lynn got to come too)
Big thanks to Suzy and Dan and all the best to Project Porchlight. I am forever indebted as your volunteer. |
