We've been so busy the past week, I haven't really had time to update here and access to internet has been fairly limited. We spent 3 days on safari last week. There were elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, lions, wildebeast, warthogs, and hippos. In fact there weren't too many animals that we didn't get to see. We both have lots of photos from the trip, too many that I am having trouble choosing one right now. We are saving those photos for the 3 hour slide show we plan to give our family and close friends when we return. Be prepared to see at least a 100 photos of monkeys. Different kinds too. The photos above were taken at a traditional Maasai market we visited today. A man offered Aaron 50 cows to buy me as his 4th wife. I was told I should be flattered as most wives normally cost 10. I guess the price goes up when you have blonde hair and blue eyes. I think Aaron was ready to take him up on his offer until we were informed that it's actually the father of the bride that receives the cows. (Dad - you should be proud, I'm worth 50 cows!) Aaron seemed to reluctant to take the offer, he said I was worth at least 60 cows. He's been working on his bartering skills. The maasai have some very interesting traditions in which I will write about when we return. We are flying to Zanzibar tomorrow to spend the next 5 days lazing on the beach. If we have some time and internet access, I'll try and post another photo again. |
