I consider myself somewhat of a sandwich connoisseur, some would even say a sandwich snob. La Botega used to be my favourite place in Ottawa to get a sandwich, that was before I was introduced to DiRienzo's. From that moment on, no other sandwich could compare. Well except maybe a smoked meat from Shwartz. My intention was to drop by Direnzo's last Sunday then head down to the market, but DiRienzo's was closed. CLOSED!! Didn't they realize I needed my most delicious sandwich. I was forced to resort to my 2nd option... La Botega. Sure they have good meats, 3 varieties of cheese, 4 choices of bread, but it just wasn't the same. It took 15 minutes to create the sandwich which cost me a total of $4.89, at DiRienzo's it takes 2min and costs me the low price of $3.50. Sure La Botega may look a little cleaner, is a little fancier, but it's got nothing over Direnzo's. Nothing. Ok, that's it. Sandwich rant done. Have a nice weekend everyone!
