Childbirth is one of the most disturbing and fascinating things I have ever seen in my entire life. I was grateful that my best friend allowed me the opportunity to witness this yesterday morning. A couple weeks ago she informed me that she was due Thanksgiving weekend. To which I responded... "COOL! If I am home when you go into labour can I come watch?" We spent a lot of time this weekend going for walks and just sitting on the couch watching bad TV. I would harass her daily.... "so, you think you are going to pop out that baby today? I have to go home soon and I am not going home until I see that baby!" I was just getting ready to drive back to Ottawa yesterday morning when I got the call. Rowan Elizabeth was born at 12:40pm, weighing 7lbs 12oz. Mom, Dad and baby are all healthy and doing well. What a wonderful friend she is to share that experience with me. It just may have reaffirmed my position that I am not having children. I used discretion this morning... this is the photo that I was going to post. I am not sure if everyone was ready to see that yet though. I have many many photos to go through and e-mails that I have yet to respond to. My next couple days will be spent trying to play catch up. Please be patient with me.
