I am extremely late in posting today for a couple reasons.

1. My computer has gone to shit. It takes me 15 minutes to open a file, then it usually crashes, it displays colours horribly, and everytime I attempt to process something in RAW, anything that is white turns bright red. Oh, I forgot to mention the time it actually takes to upload a file, which I attempted for about 15 minutes this morning. My photos are coming out over-saturated and soft, hence why I am overkilling the soft focus technique. I love my crappy laptop that has travelled all over with me, including 6 months in Central America, but I am in desperate need of a new one. The sad thing is, I am looking at two perfectly decent ones that are sitting under my desk at work. The one has been sitting here since I started, and the other is my old one that was perfectly fine, but I guess we needed to spend the rest of our budget before the end of fiscal so everyone on the team got new ones. I currently have 3 monitors on my desk, I only need one, it's such a waste. So yeah - I need a new computer but unfortunately I won't be able to afford one for at least another 6 months. That being said, if anyone feels like sending me computer parts, or money, or anything that will support my photo addiction, well by all means. (i am kidding, kinda)

2. I would have posted something as soon as I got into work, but I had a deadline this morning, and I was late already because I had to take my car in to be serviced. Now for the normal person that should be a quick process, but for me it's a lengthy one where I stand there for at least an hour and politely complain about the dent in my car. You see, I have a Saturn. When I bought my Saturn they promised me that it was dent resistant. That is the one thing that I found so appealing about the car, they even let me kick it in the showroom. Only after 3 weeks of owning it, someone smashed into the side of my car, and left a huge dent. If you have seen the Saturn commercials, they have someone driving into the side of the cars, there is no dent. I have been arguing this point everytime I take my car in to be serviced for a little under 2 years. You could see the look of dread on the faces of the service men when I walked in this morning. It may have taken almost 2 years but this morning we finally agreed on a price that was reasonable, half of the cost in which they initially estimated. I want to make note that when I complain, I am never rude, I never yell, I just annoy people until they eventually give me what I want. Persistance will get you everywhere.

i think the key to getting what you want when met with resistance is to slowly move your way up the chain. when you hear a no you ask to speak to their superior. eventually you'll get to someone with better shit to do than field your complaints and they'll cave. this works almost everytime.. except sex.

If you have to apologize for your tardiness, then I would have to buy everyone a new car. :(
