I took this one in the summer when I was learning about night photography and long exposures. I'm not very happy with it; it looks grainy and not very sharp. I am using this as an example to learn from. Kinda like me learning to hack these stupid MT templates. Progress on this has been made, but not even close to being done.

Wow. How did you make the moon do that? long exposure or something?

Not a bad job! My moons usually look way too overexposed.

a lot less grainy than most night photos i've taken! I wish I could give you some kind of constructive criticism, but it seems you have all the elements in place.. i guess only to avoid the motion blur to put a little timer on before you press the shutter :P

few things you can do to avoid some of the errors. i had mentioned to you, a tripod. a must for your long exposures. next is, low iso. no need for anything above 200 because the time of the exposure will allow the light you need. regarding focus. set your focus to manual and put on infinity. another thing you can try is using a shutter release cable to lock the shutter open and experiment with times longer than 30 secs. :) hope that helps.

All I can say if fine attempt for learning. Night shots are hard, but some great advice from JC listed.

good advice from JC. You could always do an unsharp mask on this photo, it would really sharpen it up!

It's a good first attempt. The moon and clouds turned out well. It takes a bit of experimenting but worthwhile.
