| Thanks for the comments and links yesterday, I found it very interesting and quite informative.
This photo was taken in Caledonia, ON. (my hometown - a place where I learned about the art of cow tipping and how to open a beer bottle with my teeth) right after Thanksgiving dinner at the same location where I took this and this. We had dinner this year in an old renovated train station. I would have liked to have taken more photos inside the station during dinner, or climbed the silos that you see in the previous picture, but my family already thinks that I am weird and freakish enough. Well everyone except my Mom because she understands and accepts that I am weird and she still likes to climb trees too.
I have been bringing my camera everywhere for years, and the addiction has been worse since I got the Rebel XT. I am constantly annoying my friends and family with my strange photo obsession. There are 2 comments made recently that stick out in my head. The first one from my Grandpa "Look at them, they take pictures of everything.... they even take pictures of themselves taking pictures." The second one made just last night.
Friend: What are you doing this weekend?
Me: I think I might head to Montreal and then maybe go check out the Zombie Walk in the market on Sunday.
Friend: Why... to take pictures, thats all you ever do lately, don't you have anything else better to do.
Me: Well it's better than staying inside all day watching football.
Does anyone have any stories about their weird photo obsessions, or any obsessions for that matter. I don't think I am the only one out there.

hahah .. oh man, this hits home.
I'm told the same .. constantly.
By bf and I both do photography, though now we share the same camera, we take pictures of us taking pictures and pictures of EVERYTHING else. I go out to clubs a lot, well .. not so much anymore, but I use to and my friends would never come out cos they would just say
"why? you're just going to be taking pictures all night."
which is true, I run off and do my thing.
Anytime I'd bring a camera somewhere I get rolled eyes and sarcastsic remarks
"OoOOoh .. it's Sarah with her camera again, quelle surprise!"
I've become obsessed since '02 and I will remain obsessed until the day I die.
Life is short, capture the memories and push off remarks from those who just don't understand. :)
when possible, I carry my camera with me always .. because you just never know when you might want that one shot. :)

Yep, very familiar indeed. I've actually only once known someone who was into photography and it was nice to feel free to shoot with him. But in general, people hate being shot. I used to as well, but not anymore. You have to be a good sport if you want them to be as well. When I got my first digital cam, I actually ended up taking pictures of myself to practice portraits because everybody else was fed up. In the end though, I've noticed that even people who complain will forget all about their misgivings once they see photoalbums or slideshows. They laugh, they cry, they love the memories! And that's what they should remember next time you pull out your camera.

Actually, most of the people around me love the photos I take (even when I don't) so they're very supportive. Many often come up with ideas of what to shoot, or if they see something cool, they'll point it out "Hey! Take a picture of that! And that! That'd be cool!"
Many times their ideas aren't that interesting, but the support is nice!

Hahaha ... I know what you mean ... I was ready to drive an hour out of town this past weekend to get a shot I saw while coming into town a few weeks ago. I'll do it eventually, but it was cloudy and it had to be clear :P ... it is an obsession. But if my photoblog didn't exist, I don't think i'd be half as dedicated.

obsessed eh ! its funny how people will make fun of you for taking photos all the time when they most likely have something they are obsessed about too. or maybe they do nothing at all haha. at least you have passion ! not everyone can say they have that. anyway keep snapping cause i love your pics :)

I know what you mean my friday and saturday nights mostly consist of night phootgraphy, but I have two good friends who also enjoy it, and other friends that like to come along for the adventure to see new places. My obsession (I guess) also leads me to interesting places, and often places I shouldn't be. But that is all the fun.
